I Am Now a Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Super Ambassador for Canada...

I am thrilled to announce that I, along with fellow Mardi Michels have been chosen as Super Ambassadors for Canada for Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution foundation. We will both continue as Ambassadors for Food Revolution Toronto, but we now have a stronger presence in leading the Stand Up for Real Food cause by strengthening our networks across communities and engaging new members to be active and passionate about food revolution day. Food Revolution Day is May 15th, and there's lots of activities coming up.

WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

The Food Revolution Ambassador Programme started in 2012 to engage volunteers with a real commitment to food education to help spread the Food Revolution in communities across the world. We currently have over 1,300 ambassadors in more than 121 countries leading the revolution!

As the ambassador programme has grown, we have realised we need some more support in the community. We had a look at our community and saw some amazing work and dedication to the food revolution, so wanted to recruit those ambassadors to help us lead the programme and take it from strength to strength.

WHAT WILL THEY DO?

Many of you may be curious about what the role will involve, so here’s a little overview of the kind of things we’d like our new super ambassadors to do.

• They will be our eyes and ears in your local city, connecting to other ambassadors and feeding back any great info about upcoming events, partnerships with businesses in their local community or collaborations with other ambassadors. We want them to help build these connections and then tell us all about them!

• They’ll be a first point of contact for any new ambassadors in their area who we will point in your direction for any help. When new ambassadors sign up, we will give them the details of their fellow ambassadors and nearest super ambassador to get them kick started.

• They will be on the look out on social media, helping us respond to any posts on our ambassador Facebook page we may have missed or not yet seen.

• We also know they are a talented bunch, so we’ll be doing some guest features in our newsletters and our social pages showcasing their excellent skills in order to inspire the ambassador community.

• We'll be contacting the super ambassadors directly, via Skype calls and Google hangouts, to see how they are going and to hear first hand about any exciting things they have to report about ambassador activities and projects.

We’ve carefully followed the work of our ambassadors in the community and have selected those that have gone above and beyond and shown real dedication to the ambassador programme. These individuals are already doing most of these things! But it’s not just the super ambassadors who are being rewarded- this is for the benefit of the whole ambassador community. It’s all about strengthening the relationship between ambassadors to create a more supportive network for you all.

If you have any great ideas on how we can improve the programme, we’d like to hear them! We love all the emails we already receive proposing great projects and bringing current issues to our attention, so we encourage all ambassadors to please continue this great work.
